We arrive around 4:30pm. Our departure was a little latter than planned.
Nice start to the passage with a beam reach, latter wind died down and moved to the north. Picked up to 20-25 kts over night and died back down again for the day. Motor sailed more that we had wanted to

December 20, 2008 - Fenandina Beach to Saint Augustine

Forecast: winds SW.

Plan to motor down ICW to St Johns River, anchor out and decide on Sunday if we will go outside to Saint Augustine or continue to motor down ICW.

Depart Saturday morning 9:00am, Arrive in Saint Augustine on Sunday afternoon.

UPDATE: Decided to continue down the ICW. Limited anchorages along this stretch so we are staying at Palm Cove Marina and will leave in the morning, as the tide allows, for the 30 mile stretch to St. Augustine.
Arrived in St. Augustine around noon, Sunday. Winds out of the SW at 20 kts. Anchored first at Salt Run. Shallow and limited facilities. Moved to the South side of the Bridge of Lions. Crowded with tidal current. Put out 2 anchors. Will stay here until December 29th after Owen and Elliot return to Maryland.

180 nm offshore run. 28 hours of motor sailing. Winds variable 0-5 knts. Heavy Fog. Seas 4-6 ft becoming 3-5 ft.

Departed 10:00 am on Tuesday, heavy fog in Charleston Harbor. Arrived 2:00 pm on Wednesday in heavy fog.

Weather: Rain and windy (20-35 kts)
Short 15 mile trip. need to stop and do 2,000 hr engine maintenance.

Update: Stayed extra day in Southport due to high winds

November 29th, 2008 - Beaufort to Masonboro Inlet, NC

Depart midnight Friday, arrive Masonboro around 4pm Saturday.
Weather: expecting North winds 5-10 knots becoming NE 10-15 knots during the day.
Seas 2-5 feet. 70 miles.
UPDATE: Completed offshore passage without incident. Assisted with dolphins to guide us on our way. Rained for most of the trip. Arived Carolina Beach cold and wet.

November 19th, 2008 - Ferry Point to Norfolk, VA

Weather outlook:
Sunny, Temperature 40F to 31F (Cold)
Wind from NW at 13 mph to 5 mph SSW

Plan to depart noon Wednesday 19th, sail all night to arrive in Norfolk in the morning of Thursday 20th.

Will move into the ICW and look for safe anchorage for Thursday Night.

Will have Cell phone and will monitor Channel 16 on VHF
